Visual Styles for Vista only. How to:
Use the following instructions to enable you to use non-Microsoft Visual Styles with Microsoft Windows Vista.
Download and install Vistaglazz from: [www.download.com] VistaGlazz
Description:
With this simple application you can easily patch your Windows Vista system to use custom styles, similar to the UxTheme patch for Windows XP. After that you can modify your Aero style to use the glass transparency effect on maximized windows.
Files that are modified are:
shsvcs.dll
themeui.dll
uxtheme.dll
There are two versions of these files, x86 for Vista 32 bit and x64 for Vista 64 bit, but Vistaglazz will take care of that for you.
| Once you have patched your files with Vistaglazz you will then be able to use visual styles such as those listed below. First download the style of your choice, un-pack the files and move them to: c:\windows\resources\themes (assuming windows is installed on your c:\ drive) Your Files should now look like this:

It works fine on Vista Basic and should work with aero(as my PC doesnt supports aero I cant able to test it)... The startmenu is not so good and still there are some places where this VS can be improved...

Surprise project
First of all: if you find bugs, fix them your own, cause I won't take requests of modyfing the skin. As I support mods for personal use, feel free to tweak this skin. Now, if you ever think of releasing your mod, CONTACT ME FIRST. I'll sure give permssion, but you know the rules.
Thanks to Sahtel08 for his lessons and friendship, and for being the pioneer of Vista theming. His 4074 Aero skin is awesome, it's base of my of work (with his concern), and if I was you, I'd give it a try too since it's one of the best Vista themes around.

Almost done...
I have made many modifications from GlaSsCleAR RC2 and I will leave it up to you to find out... There are still a few bugs to iron out , but I am pretty content with the almost finished product. This theme will not look good without replacing your current explorer.exe, so I left instructions on how to accomplish that. Thanks to all, who gave me ideas on improving my theme.
